SCHOLARSHIP FUND - COLLINGWOOD UNITED SOCCER CLUB
The Collingwood United Soccer Club in its efforts to recognize the excellence of its members and participants has established The Collingwood United Soccer Scholarship Fund. The fund is available to any player or member of the Collingwood United Soccer Club, who as a high school student in the Town of Collingwood in the year 2009-2010 has been accepted as a first year student at a recognized College or University.
This year the Scholarship awards may be awarded to graduating students regardless of gender in an amount not to exceed $2000.00. The club can, at it's discretion, award the full amount of $2000.00 to a sole recipient or divide it amongst successful applicants either equally or based monetarily on club involvement. Scholarship will be awarded only in years where there is a suitable candidate. Full amount may or may not be awarded in any given year.
Criteria
The student must be a referee (officiating more than 10 games in the CUSC house league/Rep system), registered player, trainer or coach (2 yrs. Min) within the Collingwood United Soccer Club.
The student is completing Grade 12 and will graduate from a high school in Collingwood.
The student must submit proof that they have been accepted into a full time program of study at a recognized educational institution.
Applicants will be assessed mainly on their involvement in the Collingwood United Soccer Club.
Other criteria to be considered – potential for continuation/involvement of the game of soccer at the College/University level in the areas of coaching or playing.
Applicants must send their application forms, plus proof that they are active participants with the CUSC. They should also include a full resume of their Past and Present involvement within the Club.
Application for the 2010-2011 school year must be received by May 31st , 2010.
Scholarship shall be awarded by June 15th, 2010 in the form of a cheque made payable to the educational institution to be used for tuition or by way of a cheque towards the cost of educational supplies and/or expenses.
